PFAPA syndrome usually presents befor 5 years of age. The existing diagnostic criteria, drafted in 1987 and consisting in a diagnosis of exclusion, do not include specific confirmation tests and are therefore limited. Although the Syndrome is considered a sporadic disease, there is need for better classification tools of this mysterious condition.
