According to the report "Health at a glance for Europe in 2016", recently published by the European Commission and OECD, one third of the population will be aged 65 years or more by 2060; moreover, the budget allocated to healthcare is scarser and scarser in many European Countries. So, asks dr. Baron-Paillon from WAidid workshop on Vaccination of Older Adults, held in Milan on December, 2nd, 2016 and supported by Vaccine Europe, "Why not preventing the preventable?". The vaccination of adult population aged 50 is justified from both a clinical and a socio-economical point of view. A life course approach to vaccination has been recognized as a fundamental tool for public health but unfortunately the immunization rates are stil not sufficient.
