Last years were characterized by a remarkable improvement in survial for patient with cystic fibrosis. Surely, treatment innovation has played a major role. Professor Carla Colombo (University of Milan, Italy) underlines how, differently from the treatmens prescribed in the past, new drugs target the first step of the disease, thus avoiding the pathogenic cascade to occur.
