Vaccine hesitancy is an increasing source of problem in Quebec, Canada, as it is nowadays in several Western countries. Professor De Wals (Quebec, Canada) talks about and interesting and fruitful experiment carried out in Quebec, where the effect of motivation interviews with mothers in Maternity Units was tested. A nurse was sent to talk to some mothers in order to discuss about vaccines in a non-directive way. The rate of vaccination was higher within the group of mothers who underwent the interview compared to the group who did not receive the interview. Now the experiment has been extended to the whole Country to verify if the motivational approach has the same result and if it make sense to make it the standard of care.
