WAIDID and the GTN (Global Tuberculosis Network) are happy to announce the availability of bursaries for the 2021 Sondalo Courses on TB management and control.

1) End TB Strategy and TB elimination during the COVID-19 pandemic: from guidelines to implementation: a practical web-based course
April 12 – 16, 2021
The overall goal of the training course is to further develop the necessary skills to plan, implement and evaluate a TB control programme during the COVID-19 time, based on the WHO End TB Strategy, with a special focus towards TB Elimination. The course uses innovative approaches, taking advantage of core guidelines and guidance documents, and simulation activities centred around Fictitia (a fictitious country in which all activities take place). The course is interactive and exercise based, being a mixture of presentations, exercises, forum with experts and virtual site based on data from Fictitia.
2) From designing a research project to publication
A practical web-based course including scientific coaching to support publication
May 3 – 7, 2021
The overall goal of the training course is to develop the necessary skills to plan a research project, write the protocol, draft the manuscript and present it to a conference as Abstract/Oral presentation.
Facilitators include top level Editors/Associated Editors of major international journals. The course will guide participants through the entire spectrum of research activities and includes coaching to help succeeding in publishing the scientific product the participant is involved in. Although the core topic uses examples from Tuberculosis (a disease that can be prevented, diagnosed, treated and rehabilitated), the methodology is applicable to other topics.
