Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in the women under the age of 44 and unlike other cancer it is uniquely preventable. For this reason, states Peggy Maguire (Director General of the European Institute of Women's Health, Ireland), and in the perspective of reducing the disparities of mortality rates throughout the EU, every Country should introduce effective prevention strategies, such the screening and HPV vaccination of young adolescents.
