Professor Paolo Durando (University of Genoa) speaks about the importance of vaccine coverage. Healthcare workers are, infact, at high risk of acquiring and trasmitting some relevant vaccine preventable diseases such as measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, pertussis, hepatitis type A and B, influenza... However, in many european and western Country, Italy included, vaccination coverage rates against some of these vaccine preventable diseases are suboptimal both for physicians and nurses.
